State Fair Parade!CLUB MEMBER ONLY RIDE DETAILS:This is for patched members only Confirmed Riders:- Troy - Diane (Troy can you confirm ?) - Richard - Rayna - John - llsabeth - bugn98 + 1 (Sorry I'm bad with names  - Pete - Cara - Adam Date: Saturday September 12th, 2009 Meet Time: 8:30am and we roll out when the Parade starts Meet Location: EXPO New Mexico Staging area @ 300 San Pedro Dr. Albuquerque, NM 87108-2812 (Exact location TBA) Total Ride Distance: Variable State Fair Details - www.exponm.com/fair/We will meet up at Expo New Mexico for an undetermined wait before roll out with the parade along Central, then after the Parade we will then break off for the day and meet up later for the meeting. The paperwork arrived today and the Duke City Scooter Club is officially accepted into the state fair parade. We've been provided with 10 free admission tickets that can be used any day for the fair, not just that Saturday. So we need at least 10 confirmed riders! We can certainly have more if more are interested. So people need to contact Troy to confirm if you are coming. PLEASE Confirm your coming by Posting in this thread!!!! Plus, we need banners and such to show everyone who we are and do some other planning such as candy to hand out. So those that are really down for this contact Troy "nuevomexicano" here to confirm or email him at lovata@unm.edu Troy will post specific directions to the staging area and keep a running head count. (He will be out of town this weekend, so don't fret if he doesn't respond until Monday night) PLEASE - Do not ride past your or your scooters abilities! - Please be prepared for a VERY SLOW riding and make sure you can walk your scooter for periods of time!! This is a members only ride, so please rock out your shirts, banners and patches! RIDE SLOW! - Richard

I'm confirming for myself ;D
The directions to the staging area I was given are these:
"Getting to the fairgrounds can be tricky. All turns on to the grounds are right turns. To get to the assembly area, drive north of Central on San Pedro and turn right on Linn--the 1st street north of Central."
The DCSC is Parade Position #105.
You must be at the staging area before 8:30am.
The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Posse will be on hand to assist you in finding Parade Position #105 or just finding your way around.

Tentative.
I have injured myself in a bit of drunken debauchery and hooliganism that currently makes scootering painful. At this time longer rides and pushing my bike is at best questionable activity. May or may not see you. We'll see how I feel next week. Keep up the good work. Here, here to drunken hooliganism just try not to crack ribs and that sort of thing. Cheers!

We've only ridden with the group once, but Cara and I would like to do this one. It sounds like fun. Do you think I'll get fined by Mayor Marty if I rev my pipe too loud though?

What does that mean? Everyone wears an eye patch? I tried that after the Bowie episode of Flight of the Conchords. My depth perception was crap.
We got some DCSC patches from illsabeth the time we rode with you before. does wearing one of those qualify or is there something else we need to do?

We would be happy to do any support that is needed, but our large scoots do not handle exceptionally well at very slow speeds.

Orange ya'll gonna wear somethin' funky? Is a parade ya know! Ya better put on yur parade hat! Look real purrty fur the crowd and all. Make a good impression if ya axe me. Thats wut you should do. Yup. Look real purrty... and funky too. Real funky and real nice. Throw sum candy to the kids and make a good impression. Yup. Also if ida wurk out... ya'll should ride round in formation like the shriners do in their lil' cars doin circles an all that. If ida wurk out.
