www.pharaohssc.com/rallies/campscoot09/index.htmCAMP SCOOT 2009! August 13-16, 2009Thursday the 13th: Townie campers and early arrivals will convene at Free Radicals at 7pm for a ride around Albuquerque. The ride will end at The Albuquerque Press Club at 9pm for an extended session of revelry and debauchery. Friday the 14th: Meet at campsite or optional Ride to Jemez Mountains (for the hardcore scooterist.) This ride will meet at 9am at SCOOT ALBUQUERQUE! (Vespa ABQ @ 1220 Renaissance NE). There is a coffee and breakfast place next door. This ride includes 25 miles of Highway riding (100cc and below discouraged). Estimated to be a 60 mile ride to campsite. This is a great ride that takes you from Albuquerque pass the gypsum mine in San Ysidro to the red rocks of Jemez Pueblo. The campsite is located 3 miles past Ponderosa on NM290. There is 1.7 miles of dirt at the end of this road, please be prepared. Friday Afternoon: Guadeloupe Tunnel Ride will leave at 4pm from Palliza Campsite. Start from the campsite down 290 to NM 4 north. The ride will turn left onto 485 and follow the Guadeloupe River through spectacular canyons and tunnels along a historical logging railroad route. This is an easy, spectacular ride that should not be missed. Estimated roundtrip is 30 miles. Friday Evening: Dinner, campfire, and relaxation (maybe) to get you ready for Saturday. Saturday the 15th Morning/Afternoon: Breakfast. Leave for the Los Alamos ride at 10:30am. This ride heads northeast through the Jemez Mountains on State Road 4. We will stop for a view of the Valles Caldera National Preserve-also known as the Valle Grande-the remains of a volcano that erupted 1.4 million years ago. From Valle Grande, we will continue up into the mountains and down through switchbacks and hairpin back turns up to Pajarito Mountain. This is a long ride that will take most of the day. Estimated round trip is 130 miles. Snacks will be provided in Las Alamos. Saturday Late Afternoon: Beer bungee and assorted games. Show off your skills, embarrass the crap out of yourself and don’t forget to smile for the camera! Saturday Evening: Dinner. Drink the rest of the beer and win big at the raffle! Sunday the 16th in the Morning: Breakfast. Pack-up campsite and see ya’ll next year! Please RSVP early! This year we will be charging more for those that just show up at the campsite. The rally fee is $30. This includes a patch, beer, food and camping. T-shirts are extra. This is greatly appreciated because it will help us ensure proper amounts of food, T-shirts, and camp reservations. We look forward to seeing you all for Camp Scoot! www.pharaohssc.com/rallies/campscoot09/register.htmLets rock this out....

Only question I have about this is if there is a gas station somewhere within reason of the campsite? Or am I going to need to have some extra fuel on-hand?
