CAMP SCOOT 2009 - AUGUST 13-16
We got an invite so I made this a post in our events, lets support the other local club and have a blast!
DAY ONE - The Pre-Rally Ride
Date: August 13th
Meet Time: 7pm
Meet Location: Free Radicals @ 300 Yale Blvd Se, Albuquerque, NM 87106
Destination: Albuquerque Press Club @ 201 Highland Park Cir SE, Albuquerque, NM 87102-3632
Rally attendees will convene at Free Radicals at 7pm for a ride around Burque [screw the Q] This ride will end at the Blackbird Buvette [on Central, in between 5th + 6th on the south side] at 9pm for an extended session of revelry and debauchery.
DAY TWO - Jemez Mountain Ride!!
Date: August 14th
Meet Time: 9am
Meet Location: Scoot Albuquerque @ 1220 S Renaissance Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107-7009
Destination: The Paliza Campsite! (located 3 miles past Ponderosa on NM290)

Ride Distance: 53+ miles
You have a choice meet-up at the Paliza Campsite or BRAVE the optional ride to Jemez Mountains!!! This ride does include a minimum of 25 miles of highway riding so all 100cc and below Scoots are discouraged. (Trailer your small bikes!)
This is a great ride that takes you from Albuquerque pass the gypsum mine in San Ysidro to the red rocks of Jemez Pueblo, Please be aware that the last 2 miles are dirt! Please be prepared!!!
4:00pm - Guadeloupe Tunnel Ride!!
Roll Out Time: 4pm
Ride Distance: 30+ miles
This ride will leave at 4pm from Palliza Campsite. Start from the campsite down 290 to NM 4 north. The ride will turn left onto 485 and follow the Guadeloupe River through spectacular canyons and tunnels along a historical logging railroad route. This is an easy, spectacular ride that should not be missed.
Friday Evening: Dinner, campfire, and relaxation (maybe) to get you ready for...
DAY THREE - Los Alamos Ride!
Date: August 15th
Roll Out Time: 10:30am
Ride Distance: 130+ miles
Snacks: Provided @ Los Alamos
Eat breakfast early and be prepared to leave for the Los Alamos ride at 10:30am. This ride heads northeast through the Jemez Mountains on State Road 4. We will stop for a view of the Valles Caldera National Preserve-also known as the Valle Grande-the remains of a volcano that erupted 1.4 million years ago. From Valle Grande, we will continue up into the mountains and down through switchbacks and hairpin back turns up to Pajarito Mountain. This is a long ride that will take most of the day.
Saturday late afternoon and into the evening
Let the Games Begin!!!
Beer bungee and other insane scooter related assorted games!!! Show off those mada$$ scoot skills or embarrass the crap out of yourself either way don’t forget to smile for the camera! LAter we have dinner, polish of the rest of the beer and win big at the raffle!
DAY FOUR - Wrap up and Roll Out!
Date: August 16th
Roll Out Time: In the morning/afternoon
Destination: Home
Ride Distance: 53+ miles or ??
Eat Breakfast - then we all clean up the horror from the evening before we all pack-up and roll out as a group or free for all!!!
Camp Scoot 2009 Requirements:
- The rally fee is only $30 (includes a patch, beer, food and camping!)
- Please RSVP - www.pharaohssc.com/rallies/campscoot09/register.htm
- This RSVP is greatly appreciated because it will ensure proper amounts of food, T-shirts, and camp reservations.
- This year there will be a higher fee for those that just show up at the campsite!
- Have a recover plan in effect!
- Camping Gear!
- Sunblock!
FYI
I would like to know how many D.C.S.C. riders are planning to attend, I know that the founders and some team riders are rolling out for this as we might have a recover team in full effect (gas fund donations appreciated)
