2nd ANNUAL MID-WINTER COLD WEATHER CHALLENGE 2010!:

Date: Saturday, January 30th!
Ride Time: 9:00am and we roll out @ 9:30ish
Meet Location: The Chevron @ Tramway & Central - 13300 Central Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123
Destination 1: Coffee At Dawn @ 12149 State Highway 14 N. Cedar Crest, NM 87008
Destination 2: The Mine Shaft Tavern @ 2846 Hwy 14 - Madrid, NM 87010
Destination 3 (for the hardcore!): Sandia Crest at 10,640 ft. - Road Conditions Permitting!
Destination 4: Ilvicino Brewing Co. @ 4000 Vassar Drive Northeast, Albuquerque, NM 87107-2056
Ride Distance: Approx 105+ COLD and fun miles round trip

We will meet up at Chevron for a brief howdy hi, we will then roll out east on Central to Historic 66 then North 14 to Coffee at Dawn for a warm up coffee the on to Madrid where we will meet up at the Mine Shaft Tavern for lunch. After lunch we ride back and attempt to climb the Sandia Crest road to the top! After peaking the crest we will enjoy some great New Mexico brews at the Ilvicino tap room!

150cc+ recommended. If the weather is particularly crappy an alternate route may occur.

- This ride is for bikes that can maintain a minimum speed of 50 mph
- Be sure you and your bike are mechanically sound for this ride.
- Top up your fuel at the meet-up.
- Please have a recovery plan in effect! (Roadside Assistance or a truck for recovery on standby!)

- Coffee & Lunch Money!

We made it to coffee at dawn--and there was only one other bike there. That's a first.


The camera refused to entirely open it's eye due to the cold in Madrid.
